After performing together in the US and forming a great musical bond, Kate Ceberano and Mark Isham found they shared a musical connection and joined on a quest based on their mutual love for “bitter-sweet, broken-hearted love songs” from the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s. A whirlwind adventure in the studio resulted in Bittersweet, which features 11 spectacular tracks, all recorded live, and full of love and longing.

Both Mark and Kate set about listing their favourite songs from the era and found that they had many in common. One month later they recorded Bittersweet, a beautiful album with Alan Pasqua, Tom Warrington, and Peter Erskine filling out the band on piano, bass and drums respectively.

In November 2005 Kate Ceberano was asked to sing with the West Australian Symphony Orchestra. Armed with the orchestrations of conductor Sean O'Boyle, pianist Aaron Choulai, a hot Perth rhythm section and the samples and saxophone of Glenn Reither, Kate performed a vastly eclectic collection of songs. Ranging from the eternal pop classic 'Unchained Melody' through to original songs and contemporary modern gems like The Verve’s 'The Drugs Don't Work'. The two shows were recorded and released as a live DVD.

Kate Ceberano's second solo album You've Always Got The Blues, released in 1988, earned her an ARIA Award for Best Female Artist (1988). Kate first found fame with her funk band I'm Talking, a group that was managed by Ken West. The group's album produced three top ten singles, went Platinum and won Best New Talent (1984) at the Countdown Awards.
